Namibia is not only known for its extreme numbers of cheetah Populations but also other Vast aquatic Life which seemingly boost its tourism sector. Following the case of poisoning of the Crocodiles in the Kunene river which flows from the Angola highlands south to the border of Namibia and then flowing westwards along the border until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean.

At least 5 crocodiles were poisoned in Namibia by unknown dwellers, who then cut open and took their limbs. This is an ongoing threat to Nambia after poaching in the central parks and goes against its laws. Namibia has its laws very clear and they fight against the killing of crocodiles.

Crocodiles in Namibia pave a bigger way to a source of tourist attraction in the country. The chief public relations officer known as Romeo Muyunda who super heads Namibia’s Ministry of Environment, Said that, they killed crocodiles were suspected to have been poisoned on the Angolan side.

A meeting has been set up with the ministry’s Angolan counterparts at the end of August to discuss the killings, he said.

Namibian authorities suspect people on the bank could have killed the crocodiles in retaliation to an attack, Mr Muyunda said.

“There might be people that were affected… maybe their livestock was killed by these crocodiles or maybe a person, a loved one, was killed by the crocodile and as a result – in fury – these people poisoned a carcass and used it as a bait for crocodiles to come and eat.”

Investigators have it that, they will also explore whether the crocodiles were killed for their meat or other reasons and perhaps sensitise the people about the dangers in such threats.
