A Gagaa bus was heading to Kampala from Paidh hit an elephant about half a kilometer from Pakwach bridge. The driver and one of the passengers were seriously injured both were rushed to Pakwach health center 4. The traffic was extremely slow because the elephant had blocked the way as it was still in the middle of the road. UWA was called to the scene and Gagaa management was also contacted to send another vehicle to transport the passengers to Kampala. Police was deployed in the area, reported the RDC of Pakwach
UWA has also been reported to be excavating 3kms wide elephant trench in Akuridia village in Oyam district. Another trench in Chepwor village Kiryandongo district about 2.5 meters is also bein dug. This is with an aim of reducing human-wildlife conflicts in these areas.
