Fly Uganda launches scheduled flights to Bwindi Impenetrable national park effective 2nd November, 2018 | Visit Uganda

Fly Uganda is a unique aviation organisation operating from Uganda and is all about flying, delivering the highest levels of safety and service. Fly Uganda grew out of a love of aviation 18 years ago and its joy of flying, the ubiquitous safety culture and the highest level of customer service is evident throughout the whole organisation.

Fly Uganda also formerly known as the Kampala Aero Club and Flight Training Centre based in Kajjansi was established in 1997 and responsible for aircraft operations and leasing. It is based at Kajjansi Airfield, only a short drive from both Kampala and Entebbe.

Launch of scheduled flights to Bwindi
Fly Uganda has launched flights to Kihihi, making it easy for travellers around Kampala and Entebbe to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park found in the south western Uganda commonly known as a home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla.

Effective 2nd November, this year (2018), Fly Uganda will start operating three times a week. That is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. These flights will either be a one way flight or a round trip from Kajjansi to Kihihi. From Kihihi, it is only an hour’s drive to the park’s main gate in Buhoma.

Flight schedules:

  1. Kajjansi to Kihihi flight
    • Departure from Kajjansi at 08:00am – arriving in Kihihi at 09:30am.
  2. Return flight (From Kihini then back to Kajjansi)
    • Departure from Kihihi at 10:00am – arriving in Kajjansi at 11:30am.

Note:

  • The ticket costs US$236 one way travel inclusive of travel fees and taxes.
  • Travellers planning a flight, must make bookings at least 2 days in advance.

Briefly about Bwindi
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a bio diverse and mountainous area situated in south western part of Uganda. It is home to many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The is attracted to a number of visitors from different nations because of its great activities carried in like gorilla tracking, bird watching, nature and culture walks, among others.
