Uganda wildlife Authority translocates Impala to Pian Upe wildlife

Uganda wildlife Authority trans-locates Impala to The Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, a conservation area in the Karamoja subregion of northeastern Uganda, the reserve being the second largest conservation protected area in Uganda, it was gazetted as the Debasien Animal Sanctuary in 1958, a government initiative to convert land southwards of the Greek river with an intention to support Agriculture threatened the expanse and viability of this reserve.

Translocation of Impala from ranches around Mburo to ian Upe wildlife reserve on going. Members of the press last night joined the translocation team to witness the capture, loading and release. They braved the night long evening drive through the night to Pian.

Visitors travelling to Pian Upe wildlife can enjoy numerous insights inclusive of the hot spring renowned as a potential source for Geothermal tapping at Cheposukunya, visitations to the Mercury wells at Mt. Other wildlife include; Topi, Cape buffalo, Roan antelope, Günther’s dik-dik, Waterbuck, Blue and common duiker, Ugandan kob, Klipspringer, Common elands and the new girls Impalas.
